180-degree Vs 270-degree awnings
The right awning depends on how much coverage you need, where you want the shelter positioned and how you use your vehicle. A 180-degree awning extends along the side of the vehicle and is a practical option for campers wanting generous side coverage in a compact, universal setup. Our Fantail 180 provides approximately 9.2m² of coverage and can be fitted to either the left or right side of a vehicle.
A 270-degree awning wraps around the side and rear of the vehicle, creating a larger sheltered area for cooking, relaxing and accessing gear. The Fantail 270 provides approximately 11.5m² of coverage, while the larger Fantail 270 Max provides approximately 13m².
Consider your vehicle layout, rear-door access, rooftop-tent entry, campsite space and preferred coverage before choosing your awning.
